About Us

e·van·ge·lism [ih-van-juh-liz-uhm]
  • the preaching or promulgation of the gospel; the work of an evangelist.
  • missionary zeal, purpose, or activity.
LifeLight Communications, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Evangelistic Proclamation Organization. We view ourselves as missionaries, and base our work from Acts 1:8, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” We exist to proclaim the Gospel through music and the message.

LifeLight’s founding principle is to offer all festivals FREE of admission so that ALL may come and ALL may hear the Gospel message. The LifeLight South Dakota Festival, while the most visible area, is one of three areas of LifeLight’s ministry: Festivals, Missions and Outreach. Yet LifeLight is ONE ministry with ONE mission, “Taking the Church outside the walls, bringing Light into the darkness with the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

In everything we do, we must answer one question, “How is the Gospel going to be presented?” This is our common denominator, plain and simple.
"Taking the Church outside the walls, bringing LIGHT into the darkness with the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ" (John 8:12)

LifeLight is reaching and rescuing people for Christ locally, regionally, nationally and globally through music and other relevant means to impact millions now and eternally. (Acts 1:8)
While on a missions trip to Mexico in 1998, God grabbed a hold of Alan's heart with the mission of "Taking the Church outside the walls." From this the ministry of LifeLight was founded, a 501(c)(3) non-profit Proclamation Evangelistic Organization. Both he and his wife, Vicki, are the Founders of LifeLight Communications, Inc.

The ministry of LifeLight includes Festivals, Missions and Outreach. In addition to a team of people who are called to the ministry, a huge group of volunteers also serve in the ministry. What started out as a festival on a church lawn has now grown into an international ministry involving many who have a heart to reach people with the Gospel. In John 8:12 Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the Light of Life." From this verse the LifeLight ministry was born.

LifeLight’s home base is in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The South Dakota Festival is the largest and most well known aspect of the ministry and is offered FREE of admission to the public. Beginning on a church lawn for one night in 1998, it has since become one of the nation’s largest music festivals. Held annually over Labor Day weekend in Sioux Falls, S.D., the festival attracts hundreds of thousands of people from all over the country and world.

LifeLight's first international festival outreach was in Karachi & Hyderabad, Pakistan followed by Haiti, Guatemala, and Ethiopia. LifeLight's first expansion festival is held in Bethany, MO and is in its fifth year. LifeLight Texas was held in May 2013.

We are passionate about sharing Christ and serving the poor, needy, and transforming impoverished communities. Through local missions as well as mission trips to Mexico, Haiti, Ethiopia and beyond, we bring Light into these dark areas.

Beyond the Festivals & Missions, LifeLight facilitates numerous outreach events throughout the year exposing thousands to Christ in a real and relevant way. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is boldly proclaimed at every event, with prayer responders on hand for immediate follow-up.
